EDIMS LLC's Management Team has extensive experience in multiple disciplines within the health care arena. Our collective knowledgebase allows us to effectively address emergency department clinical operations, financial operations, performance improvement, risk reduction and technology requirements both for the present, and well into the future.
Our Management Team encompasses
physician thought-leaders in the fields of clinical information systems, clinical research,
risk reduction, EMS, evidence-based medicine, in addition to industry experts in software development,
support and customer service.
Shane Hade
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Hade is a seasoned business and technology management professional with extensive experience in healthcare and financial services and a significant depth of line-level and executive-level knowledge. His strong leadership qualifications, coupled with a hands-on technology approach and a focus on bottom-line results, have enabled him to formulate and implement advanced technology and business solutions that have been successfully used to manage vital data flows, including patient, banking, and trading transaction data. Mr. Hade's superior record of delivering simultaneous large-scale, mission-critical systems on time and under budget affirms the effectiveness of his team-based approach to management. He has extensive experience in building emerging-growth IT service and product firms, and has worked with venture capitalists in raising funds and assessing technologies of companies seeking funding.
Prior to being named CEO in May of 2006, Mr. Hade served as the company's Chief Operating Officer. Under his leadership, the organization has raised its products and services to new levels of quality and customer satisfaction, and continues to execute a shared vision of delivering to our customers through reliable quality, exemplary service, and increased product features.
Mr. Hade's prior companies include Avanti Health Systems, PriMed, Hackensack University Medical
Center, JP Morgan Chase & Co., System Arts, ChartScape, and SendWordNow
(mission critical notification services for Time Warner, Walmart, U.S.P.S, others).
John Fontanetta, MD, FACEP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Fontanetta is an expert in efficient ED operations/process design, physician productivity, ED incentive plan development, EDIS interface design and deployment, and the use of EDISs and information management applications in transforming the work performed in unscheduled healthcare environments. He has nearly 20 years of clinical and management experience in Emergency Medicine. and currently serves as the Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey, which sees 54,000 visits/year. He has been heavily involved in development of the EDIM and WEBeMARS products offered by EDIMS, LLC. Dr. Fontanetta is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine (Subspecialty of Pulmonary Medicine).
He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York, New York
and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania and fellowship in Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine,
Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, Bronx, New York.
Allen G. Sugerman
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Sugerman's vast experience includes over 20 years focusing on all core finance, accounting and treasury functions for hospitals, hospital systems, clinics, insurance companies, and a wide range of other industries in various stages of start-up, growth, turnaround, and transition.
He has served as CFO and Treasurer of a public insurance company, has over 14 years of audit and consulting experience with Big Four accounting firms and spent 12 years as a founding partner in a health care consulting firm.
His experience extends far beyond accounting and finance to encompass most business functions, including turnaround management; strategic and tactical business planning; new venture start-up; operating management; and IT systems.
With extensive hands-on management skills in several turnaround situations and negative cash flow operations, he has acquired a keen understanding of what works and what hasn't worked for achieving profitability in the highly competitive and highly regulated health care and insurance industries.
Mr. Sugerman holds both a B.S. in accounting from California Polytechnic University and an MBA from
Claremont Graduate University. He is a licensed CPA and a member of the California Society of CPA's,
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American College of Health Care Executives and
Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Elaine Barry, RN, MSN, APN-C, CCRN, CPC, CPC-H
Vice President of Clinical Client Relations
Ms. Barry joined Alpha Physician Resources in 1988 as a consultant to develop the Clinical Information Manager Program. This program provides charting scribes for Emergency Department physicians. Elaine became a full time member of the Alpha team in April 1999 as Director of the Clinical Information Manager Program and has also been a client account manager for several sites responsible for (i). ensuring contractual agreements for providing emergency department physicians were met. (ii). providing on site support to hospital administration and Emergency Department leadership including compliance with JCAHO, EMTALA and New York/ New Jersey State regulations.
Currently Ms. Barry serves as the Director of IT Clinical Client relations for EDIM, LLC. Elaine is responsible for directing clinical policy and compliance initiatives as well as efforts to maximize the adoption of EDIM software in the ED environment. Elaine has a clinical operations background, with experience in ED process optimization, and extensive domain knowledge that will continue to strongly influence the evolution of our EDIM product.
Prior to joining Alpha, EMA and EDIMS, Ms. Barry worked as a Registered Nurse. She has an extensive 25 years of clinical experience including pediatrics, critical care, medical surgical, emergency department and 18 years as a mobile intensive care nurse and was certified as a National Registry paramedic while working in the pre-hospital setting. Elaine maintains her clinical skills as an Advanced Practice nurse in the Emergency Department at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville New Jersey.
Ms. Barry earned a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Seton Hall University,
South Orange, New Jersey. A Masters degree in Nursing Administration from Seton Hall
and a post Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Rutgers University,
Newark, NJ. Elaine's clinical excellence has been recognized several times over her career.
In 1999 Elaine was the recipient of Somerset Medical Center's Nurse of the year award.
Alex J. Iommazzo
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Iommazzo joined Alpha Physician Resources, LLC in March 2005 to work directly with line management in our EDIM, WEBeMARS, Network Services, and Other Applications business units to design, plan, and control the day-to-day activities of serving EMA and our other customers. He is involved in setting policy and approving proposals to: (i) attract and retain great people, (ii) acquire useful tools, (iii) control the flow of materials and work, (iv) set staffing plans, (v) design and build-out our facilities and supply/contractor networks (location and capacity), and (vi) arrange our assets to competitively produce products and services meeting or exceeding our customer's expectations for quality and performance. He ensures that these decisions are aligned with the corporate strategies of ISS and APR and fit with the constraints imposed by our business plan.
Prior to joining Alpha, EMA and EDIMS, Mr. Iommazzo compiled an extensive 25-year history in line-level software development and software business process optimization, including engagements with Bloomberg Financial, ADP, The Bank of New York, Equitable Life Assurance and Aventis. He has in-depth experience in the development of software development methodologies and processes.
Mr. Iommazzo earned a degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in
Rutherford, N.J. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson
University in Teaneck, N.J. with a minor in Computer Science.
Michael Ruotolo
Director of Sales & Marketing
Michael Ruotolo brings over 20 years of strong entrepreneurial, management and Healthcare experience to EDIMS, LLC. His committed work ethic and innovative thinking has attributed to his success in his sales career and his experience in Healthcare IT has provided him with a well-rounded exposure to Hospital Operations. Michael's ability to understand the physician workflow and return on investment for IT projects, compliments the EDIMS, LLC business model.
Previously, Michael consistently exceeded sales expectations at companies such as PatientKeeper (a Physician Information System Company) and QuadraMed (a Health Information Technology Company). In addition, he has extensive experience in Document Imaging and Medical Records. Michael's broad experience in customer retention and new business penetration provides him with the ability to excel in his new position.
Michael's career prior to healthcare was very entrepreneurial having been involved with startups and established organizations where he managed teams of up to 30 people.
Michael obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing from Penn State University.
